The word “Granite” comes from the Latin word “Granum,” which means “grain,” because of its grainy texture. Granite is an igneous rock made mostly of Quartz (35%), Feldspar (45%), and Potassium. It is known for its strength, ability to handle heavy loads, and can be cut into thin, large slabs without cracks. Above all, granite is very strong and long-lasting.
